JACKSON SPRINGS â€” Blondell Ellington, age 84, of NC Hwy. 73, Jackson Springs died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at her residence.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Marcus United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Eric Joyce and Rev. Don Burns. Inurnment will be at a later date at Marcus United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor and other times at the residence.
Mrs. Ellington was born in Moore County on August 25, 1927 to Marvin McKinley Pool and Bertha Gaddy Poole. She was a member of Marcus United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was married to Rev. Budd Ellington who died February 9, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a son, Budd McKinley (Mac) Ellington.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy R. Ellington of Jackson Springs; a son Mark Ellington and wife Brenda of Lincolnton; daughter-in-law, Nancy D. Ellington of Bervard; grandchildren, Becky Heatherly and husband Chad, Amy Hertz and husband, Steve, Bradley Beamer and Mark Beamer and great-grandchildren, Savanah Heatherly, Haley Heatherly and Zack Beamer.

MAIDEN â€” Julie Renee Poovey Hull, age 41, of Kanewood Trail, Lincolnton passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at CMC Charlotte.
Born April 26, 1970 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of Kenneth Herman Poovey and Betty JoAnne Miller Poovey.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles â€œJuniorâ€ Hull of the home; father and mother, Kenneth H. and JoAnne Poovey of Denver; two sons, Justin Goodson of Maiden, Colton Goodson of Maiden; two stepsons, Charles and Donovon Hull of Lincolnton; four brothers, Keny, Tracy, Stuart, Gary Poovey; one sister, Kendra Poovey; grandmother, Rosa Poovey of Maiden; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held today at 4 p.m. at Amity Baptist Church in Denver with the Rev. Charles Ingle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Earline Stover Johnson
Earline Stover Johnson, age 65, of 302 Newcastle Avenue, Lincolnton, transitioned peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at CMC-Lincoln, Lincolnton.
She was born in Gaston County on March 1, 1947, the daughter of the late Pauline Stover Littlejohn.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her daughter, Felicia P. Adams and a brother, Allen Dewitt Stover Sr.
Earline graduated from Newbold High School, class of 1965. Earline was an active member of the Newbold Alumni Association and served as treasurer. She received an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Gaston College.
Earline was a faithful member of Greater Moore’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. She sang in the choir, was a Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Class Leader and served on the Trustee Board. Earline was a deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff Department and an ISS Teacher at Lincolnton High School. Earline served on the Apple Festival Board, National Night Out, Coalition of Black churches, Adopt-A-Cop, Communities In School, Lincolnton Housing Authority and the Recreation Boards. She was very active in her church, community and served well in many other organizations.
Funeral services are Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Greater Moores Chapel A.M.E. Zion church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 12:00 noon and the family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m.
Survivors are her son, Timothy D. Stover (Karen) of Lincolnton; two brothers, Albert Stover Sr. of Iron Station, Julius Littlejohn of Charlotte; three sisters, Cynthia A. Stover, Robin D. Littlejohn, both of Lincolnton, Freda S. Byrd of Newton; four grandchildren, Jamele’ Wilson, Arielle Wilson, Shaquille Wilson, Joshua Stover; eight nephews, Albert Stover Jr. (Erica), Jeffery Stover (Brandi), Wellington Stover, Allen Stover Jr., Demetrik Wilson (Sonja), Julius Littlejohn Jr., Trenton Williamson, Michael Odum; seven nieces, Kiska Stover, Ami Stover, Myka Stover, Charity Williamson, Angelica Littlejohn, Paula Littlejohn, Tyra Littlejohn.

Mr. Donald â€œBuckâ€ Charles Hines, age 66, of 2631 Keener Road in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, March 10, 2012.

Mr. Hines was born May 12, 1945 in Baltimore, Md. to the late George Shuford and Alice Gamble Hines. He formerly worked in maintenance for Bosch Manufacturing.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Hines of the home; daughter, Deedy Hines Fox of Lincolnton; grandson, Thorne Fox; honorary grandson, Luke Haynes, son of Richie and Cindy Haynes; and two brothers, George Hines Jr. of Stanfield, and John Hines of Cherryville.
