Howard Franklin â€˜Frankâ€™ Palmer
RAEFORD â€” Mr. Howard Franklin (Frank) Palmer of 2611 June Johnson Road, died Tuesday, February, 28, 2012 in FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst at the age of 75.
Mr. Palmer was born in Lincoln County on January 21, 1937 to the late Frank W. Palmer and Mozelle Martin Palmer. He retired from the US Army and was the former owner and operator of The Nashville Station. Mr. Palmer was the owner of Palmerâ€™s Mobile Home Park.
Survivors include his wife, Ellie B. Palmer of Raeford; his former wife and the mother of his three children, Celia Palmer; two sons, Wayne Palmer of Fayetteville, and Joey Palmer and wife Pixie of Raeford; daughter, Kay P. Bohler and husband Carl of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; two step-sons, Richard Pennington and Robbie Pennington and wife Debbie all of Wilmington; brother, Clyde Palmer of Lincolnton; two sisters, Dorothy Chapman and husband Wayne and Ann Beal and husband Burley, all of Lincolnton; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, March 5, 2012 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home-Raeford.
Graveside Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with the rendering of full military honors.

Jessie Juanita Farmer Finger, age 85 of 3396 E. Highway 27 in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. today at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Anita Sain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012 atWarlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Finger was born February 4, 1927, in Greenville County, S.C. to the late J.D. and Gladys Brannon Farmer. She cared for children as her lifeâ€™s work.
She was a dear wife, mother, grandmother and friend who always focused on caring for others and felt blessed every day of her life. For the joy you always brought us, we thank you.
She is survived by her husband, Reid Finger of the home; two daughters, Sharon Rosenberg and husband Mark of Lincolnton and Lisa Vaughn and husband David of Huntersville; and one grandson, Jacob Vaughn.

Mr. James Lytton Carpenter, age 74, of 1638 Roseland Drive in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.

Mr. Carpenter was born January 20, 1938 in Gaston County to the late Robert Pinkney and Mary Lee Earl Carpenter.Â In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sons, James Junior Carpenter and Lonnie Ray Carpenter; and three brothers, Dan, Barry and Mack Dean Carpenter.Â He worked in textiles.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Schronce Carpenter of the home; one daughter, Cynthia Carpenter Rhodes and husband Gerald Thomas of Cherryville; five brothers, Douglas Carpenter, Ted Carpenter, Donald Carpenter, and Kenneth Carpenter all of Lincolnton, and Clayton Carpenter of Cherryville; four sisters, Elsie Scronce of Maiden and Evon Franklin, Wanda Ballard, and Mary Ann Rogers, all of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Miranda Rhodes and Dustin Rhodes, both of Cherryville, and Lonnie Carpenter and Angela Rubio, both of Lincolnton; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

David Sylvester Burris Jr., 65, of Kings Mountain died Feb. 28, 2012.
Funeral services will be held Mar. 3, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Bessemer City with burial to follow in Adams Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church cemetery.
