Hugh Gene White
VALE â€” Mr. Hugh Gene White, age 68, of 5792 Bill Ledford Road in Vale, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 18, 2012.
His funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Reepsville Baptist Church with Pastor Tracey Mull and Pastor Harold King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. White was born August 14, 1943 in Lincoln County to the late Buford and Mary Hubbard White. He was a kind, loving, devoted husband and father and a member of Reepsville Baptist Church. Mr. White was retired from textiles.
He is survivedÂ by his wife Barbara Clippard White of the home; four sons, Danny White of Vale, Larry White of Lincolnton, Pastor Tracey Mull and wife Susie of Hickory, Johnny Mull and wife Cynthia of Lincolnton; four daughters, Kathy White of Lincolnton, Debbie Sherrill and husband James of Maiden, Rena Black and husband Rick of Lincolnton, Teresa Hill and husband Mike of Lincolnton; one brother, C.M. White and wife Pat of Lincolnton; three sisters, Shirley Dellinger of Lincolnton, Hazel Gibson and husband Mike of Gastonia, Marlene Clippard and husband Donnie of Lincolnton; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Elmer Odell Wise, 80, of 2746 Peeler Rd. in Vale, died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Hospice at Wendover.
Born July 27, 1931 in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Lester Jacob Daniel Wise and Lillie Maebell Young Wise. He was a member of Reeps Grove United Methodist Church and retired from Century Furniture after forty two and a half years as a machine operator. He was also a lifelong farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Wise, and one sister, Edith Cook.
Survivors include his wife of fifty seven years, Verlene Mosteller Wise; one son, Ronnie Dale Wise of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Bryan Lewis of Fallston, and Patricia and Wayne Davis of Vale; five grandchildren, Josh Lewis, Garrett Lewis, Robert Davis, Rebecca Upton and husband Ted, and Robin Davis; two great grandchildren, Jacob Upton and Kourtney Upton; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Thelma Wise of Hickory; and two sisters, Vergie Hoyle of Vale and Ellen Kiser and husband Ray of Stanley.
Visitation will be held at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
The funeral service will be at Reeps Grove United Methodist Church, Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harry Andrews and Mr. Ray Leonhardt officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
