Lincoln County Republican Party Chairman Bradley Putnam announced earlier this week that U.S. Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., has confirmed his attendance as the guest speaker for the Lincoln County GOP’s upcoming Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner 2012.
“This is a great opportunity for not only local Republicans, but also Republicans statewide, to come and hear Sen. Burr speak,” said Putnam in a news release he sent out.
The dinner is one of the largest events conducted by local Republicans every year.
“Sen. Burr understands the importance of 2012 and is showing his ability and willingness to help GOP candidates be successful,” Putnam added.
This year’s event will also feature a multitude of candidates for local offices up to candidates for U.S. Congress. Additionally, for the first time ever, a straw poll will be held at the event.
Putnam is encouraging Republicans to come and show their support for specific candidates. Those interested must purchase dinner tickets to participate in the straw poll.
The dinner will be 6:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Pumpkin Center. Tickets are available by visiting the party’s website at http://lincolncountygop.org.
