Roundup of drug suspects continues

A dozen suspects remain at-large in Operation .38 Special, a Sheriff’s Office drug initiative that commenced late last month.
A grand jury in mid-January indicted more than 30 suspects wanted on various drug charges including the use and sell of heroin, cocaine, marijuana and prescription pills.
On Jan. 26, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with federal authorities from the U.S. Marshal’s Office to apprehend at least half of the alleged offenders.
According to narcotics investigators, The Sheriff’s Office SWAT team also aided in knocking down the door of a home where two suspects were running a prescription pill operation.
Authorities said they remain on-the-hunt for the following individuals:

  • Timothy Shontay Baxter Jr., 32, of 133 Laura Jeanne Lane in Statesville is wanted for sell/deliver cocaine and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine.
  • Anthony Thomas Caffrey Jr., 50, of 1131 S. Aspen St. in Lincolnton is wanted for two-counts each of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Methadone and sell/deliver Methadone and one-count each of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Oxycodone and sell/deliver Oxycodone.
  • Brent Allen Stidham, 34, of 2136 Shuford Road in Lincolnton is wanted for sell/deliver a counterfeit controlled substance and possession with the intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance.
  • Cassey Leigh Tutterow, 21, of 519 Katherine Ave. in Kings Mountain is wanted for three-counts each of sell/deliver cocaine and possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine along with one-count each of conspiracy, possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Alprazolam and sell/deliver Alprazolam.

Authorities ask that residents continue to keep a vigilant eye on suspicious activity in their neighborhoods and report any information to the county’s tip line at (704) 736-8422. Individuals can also contact Crime Stoppers at (704) 736-8909. Tips may remain anonymous, and anyone with information leading to an arrest may receive a reward of up to $1,000.
The following suspects were arrested in connection with Operation .38 Special after Jan. 26:

  • Tavis Sherron Nixon, 33, of 1013 Georgetown Road in Lincolnton turned himself in to Lincoln County deputies on Feb. 7 and was charged with two-counts each of sell/deliver cocaine and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine along with one-count each of conspiring to sell/deliver cocaine and possession with the intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance within 300 feet of a playground. Bond is set at $15,000.
  • Tiniya Michelle Stewart, 23, of 4736 Dick Wilson Road in Denver was charged Feb. 7 by the U.S. Marshal’s Office with two-counts of possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance and one-count each of maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. A $2,500 secured bond was set.
  • April Michelle Smith, 27, of 522 Motz Avenue in Lincolnton was charged Feb. 2 with two-counts each of sell/deliver cocaine and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine along with one-count each of conspire to sell/deliver cocaine and possession with the intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance within 300 feet of a playground. A $42,000 secured bond was set.
  • Jennifer Nichole Sigmon, 30, of 4845 Grassy Creek Road in Denver was charged with three counts each of sell/deliver cocaine and possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine along with one count each of conspire to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Alprazolam and sell/deliver Alprazolam. She is currently being held in the Burke-Catawba County Detention Center on an unknown bond amount.
  • Heather Lauren Carver, of unknown age and address, was charged with one count each of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver Oxycodone, sell/deliver Oxycodone, trafficking opiates by sale, possession and transportation.
  • Reco Ricardo Cureton, 40, of 16001 Statesville Road in Huntersville was charged with one count each of failure to store a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of cocaine.  A $49,000 secured bond was set.
  • Rocci Jackson Jr., 24, of 507 Red St. in Lincolnton was charged with one count each of sell/deliver marijuana and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana. A $26,000 secured bond was set.
  • Christopher David Rudisill, 22, of 206 Lynch St. in Lincolnton was charged with one-count each of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine and sell/deliver cocaine. A $30,000 secured bond was set.
  • Christopher ONeal Smith, 24, of 1505 Laboratory Road in Lincolnton was charged with one-count each of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine and sell/deliver cocaine.  A $51,000 secured bond was set.
