Deputies said an Iredell County man accused of stealing car parts from a Lincoln County location earlier this month is also wanted in a neighboring state for forging checks.

Roman Fred Zabinski, 45, of 128 Tennant Lane in Mooresville, removed six Porsche air cooling shrouds and a plastic gas can, all totaling more than $1,500, from 6548 Denver Industrial Park Rd., deputies said. The items belonged to Black Forest Racing.

Deputies said they located Zabinski’s red Mazda truck stuck in the mud along the Denver roadway.

After further investigation, authorities charged Zabinski with multiple felony charges for larceny, possession of stolen goods, obtaining property by false pretenses, financial identity fraud and fugitive from justice after local authorities learned that the suspect was wanted in Jefferson County, Tenn., for forgery of check charges.

He’s currently being held without bond in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center and is waiting extradition to Tennessee, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
