Mr. Wade Mosteller, age 93, of 926 Salem Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, January 10, 2012.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Doug McClain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service.Â Visitation will be from 7:00 until 9:00 pm tonight atWarlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Mosteller was born October 20, 1918 in Lincoln County to the late John and Ella Grigg Mosteller.Â In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Inez Whitesides Mosteller. He worked as a carpenter and brick mason and contracted plans on several local churches including Southside Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane Houser and husband M.C. of Lincolnton, and Dean Cline; one brother, Craig Mosteller of Lincolnton; one grandson, Rick Cline and wife Kim of Lincolnton; one granddaughter, Donya Burris and husband Joe of Cherryville; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Cline and Dalton Burris.

Mr. Bobby Earl Cook, age 69, of 2640 Keener Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, January 9, 2012.

Mr. Cook was born October 2, 1942 in Lincoln County to the late Ambrose and Vergie Mason Cook.Â He worked for Claremont Building Supplies in Denver for twenty years.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Cook of the home; one son, Robert Cook of Lincolnton; one daughter, Tammie Cook Moore of Lincolnton; four brothers, J.C. Cook and Ervin Cook, both of Lincolnton, Jack Wilson of Newton, and William Wilson of Lincolnton; one sister, Shirley Wilson of Morganton; four grandchildren, Jimmy Sisk of Moncure, Stephen Moore of Charlotte, Brandon Moore of Kernersville, and Carla Kirk of Lincolnton; and one great-grandchild, Samara Sisk of Moncure.

Sam Canipe Jr., 83, of 302 Hulls Grove Church Rd, Vale, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton.
Sam was born on February 24, 1928 in Lincoln County, to the late Samuel Burton Canipe and Bertha Mildred Brendle Canipe. He retired as a commercial construction foreman and was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Eva Parker Canipe; four brothers, Lester Mack Canipe, Warren G. Canipe, Johnnie Canipe and Tommy Canipe; and sister Fuchia Settlemeyers.
He is survived by a son, Aubrey â€˜Aubieâ€™ Canipe of Vale; four daughters, Maisie Wallace and husband William of Vale, Winona Houser and husband Gene of Vale, Gail Stiles of Vale and Donna Norman and husband Arnold of Vale; a brother, Hugh Canipe of Lenior; two sisters, Jean Bass of Vale and Barbara Wylie of Cherryville; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 12 step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Hebron United Methodist Church, Vale with Rev. Jennifer Hege and Jonathan Hewitt officiating.
The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.
Burial will be at Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery, Vale.

MAIDEN â€” Clay Douglas Sipe, age 50, of Jim Beard Road, Maiden passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at his residence.
Born July 16, 1961 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Calvin Richard â€œPeteâ€ Sipe and the late Dorothy Love Sipe. Clay was a member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at Lawingâ€™s Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden. He was a faithful volunteer at Abernethy Laurels and was a Board member of D.F.L Ministries.
Survivors include two brothers, Rick Sipe and wife, Robin of Maiden, Ted Sipe and wife, Teresa of Maiden; two sisters, Pam Canipe and husband, James of Vale, Linda Morris and husband, Mike of Maiden; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Lawingâ€™s Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden with Rev. Stephen Rector, Rev. Marion Powell and Rev. Nathaniel Austin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
