Registered sex offender charged for having Facebook page

Deputies have charged a Lincolnton woman convicted of kidnap and incest with illegally maintaining a Facebook page.

Amanda Lee Flowers, 21, of 308 Hubbard St., is a registered sex offender, authorities said, and is not allowed to access any kind of social networking site that additionally allows minors to become members.

A Sheriff’s Office press release said Flowers faces both felony sex offender use of a social website and a misdemeanor probation violation charge.

According to the North Carolina Department of Correction website, public records showed that in November 2010, a Lincoln County jury found Flowers guilty of incest and second-degree kidnapping of a minor.

Sheriff’s Detective Seth Bailey and a probation officer arrested the suspect at her home on Thursday.

Flowers is currently being held without bond in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center.
