Hesed House Opening
Hesed House of Hope, Lincoln Countyâ€™s homeless shelter, is now open for the winter season.Â The shelter is located at 100 Ann Gaither Court, Lincolnton.Â Guests wishing to stay overnight at the shelter should arrive at 6 each evening.Â Anyone wanting to volunteer to provide a meal or spend the night should contact email@example.com.
Santa Claus will be at the corner of Academy St. and E. Main St. in downtown Lincolnton during the following hours this week: Thursday 4-8 p.m.; Friday 1-8 p.m.; Saturday 2-8 p.m. Visits are free, and sometimes Santa has his elves with him, too.
Christmas Art & Craft Show
Due to lack of interest, Crafterâ€™s Corner Christmas Craft Art & Craft show, originally scheduled for Thursday and Friday at G. E. Massey Elementary School, has been canceled.

Christmas Eve Services
Crouse United Methodist Church will host a Christmas Eve Carols and Communion Service on at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the church, which is located across from the Crouse Post Office on Old Hwy. 150 in Crouse between Lincolnton and Cherryville. All are welcome to attend.
St. Paulâ€™s Lutheran Church of Crouse, Old Hwy. 150 in Crouse, is having its candlelight Christmas Eve service at 11 p.m. on Saturday. Everyone is cordially invited.
New Destiny Community Church, 626 Highway 16 South in Denver, is hosting a Christmas program, music and drama, The Innkeeperâ€™s Dream, starting at 6 p.m. Sunday. A dessert social will follow the service/program. Attendees are asked to bring a dessert or finger food. Christmas Choir Celebration
Marantha Baptist Church, on Dallas/Cherryville Hwy., invites the public to celebrate their choir celebration, The Nameâ€¦JESUS, at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The presentation will celebrate Christ from his birth in Bethlehem to His triumphant return in the clouds for His church.

Last Manâ€™s Club
The Last Manâ€™s Club WWII Veterans of Lincoln County will hold their monthly meeting at 11 a.m. on Jan. 4 at Ryanâ€™s Steakhouse in Lincolnton. All WWII veterans and guests are invited. One veteranâ€™s raffle winner will receive a handmade quilt.
Youth Baseball Tryouts
The Westlake Warriors 11 & under team is holding tryouts from 3-5 p.m. at the Denver Batting Center on Jan. 8.Â The team will be playing 7-8 tournaments during the spring/summer season.Â Practices will be three days a week in the Denver area.
