Laura Abigail Page and Phillip James Martin were united in marriage at The Laboratory Mill in Lincolnton on October 22, 2011. Marcus Redding officiated the 5:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of James and Beverly Page of Lincolnton and the granddaughter of Helen Campbell and the late Joe Campbell and George and Vassie Page. She received a B.A. in Communication Studies from Furman University.
The groom is the son of Dr. Mike and Abby Martin of Oakwood, Ga., and the grandson of Dr. Lee Martin Sr. and the late Beverly Martin and Jim and Ann Barfield. He received a B.A. in Asian Studies from Furman University and is a Communication Specialist for Gray Construction.
The bride was given in marriage by James Page. Maid/Matron of honor were Ms. Lauren Lytle, Mrs. Olivia Page, and Mrs. Katherine Gracz. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Stephanie Padilla, Mrs. Chandra Malin, and Ms. Kristalyn Gill.
The best man was Dr. Mike Martin. Groomsmen were Ben Martin, Andy Martin, Michael Clemens and Zachary Page.
Music was performed by Becky Beattie and Andy McClure. The register attendant was Mollie Petersen with Ashlie Link and Lana Parrish directing.
A reception was held at The Laboratory Mill.
After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica the couple lives in Lexington, Ky.
Meredith is a 2001 graduate of East Lincoln High School, a 2006 graduate of UNCC with a BA in Sociology, and received Paralegal Certification in 2007 from Duke University. She is employed by Catawba County Department of Social Services.
Kirk is a 1996 graduate of West Iredell High School and a 2001 graduate of CVCC with an AAS in Horticulture. He is the owner of Bandyâ€™s Landscape Management.
The 5:30 p.m. outdoor ceremony was held at the Gazebo by the Lake at Chetola. The bride wore an ivory strapless organza Vera Wang gown with hand-cut bias flange skirt and cathedral length train.
Maid of Honor was Cailey Robinson, niece of the bride. Matron of Honor was Meredith Hill Devine. Bridesmaids were Kim Carter Post, Mandy Skidmore Robinson, and Payton Pierce, daughter of the groom.
Best man was the groomâ€™s father, Darryl Bandy Sr. Groomsmen were Ryan Dellinger, Daniel Dudley, Darryl Bandy Jr. and Darren Bandy, brothers of the groom.
Flower girls were Carolina Robinson, niece of the bride, and Madison Huffman, the brideâ€™s daughter. Ring Bearer was Owen Bandy, the groomâ€™s nephew. Program Attendants were Ava, Caroline, and Landon Bandy, nieces and nephew of the groom. Wedding coordinator was Kelly Ann Somers of Kelly Ann Somers Design. Ceremony and reception dÃ©cor and flowers were provided by Kathy Somers and Marie Clark of Larryâ€™s Dried & Silk Flowers, Vale.
A reception with dinner and dancing, hosted by the brideâ€™s parents, was held immediately following the ceremony at the Lakeside Peninsula at Chetola. Music was provided by the band, Blind Manifest, of Charlotte. A rehearsal breakfast, hosted by the groomâ€™s parents, was held the morning of the ceremony in the Evergreen Room at Chetola Resort. The couple were honored with a bridal shower hosted by family and friends and a wedding shower hosted by members of Monticello United Methodist Church.
The couple spent their honeymoon at Excellence Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
They currently reside in Statesville with their children.
