A Lincoln County man may be spending the holidays in jail this month after Gaston County authorities booked him under a $1 million dollar bond Tuesday for sexually abusing two children in the county in November.
Heath Charles Payseur, 22, of 3106 Wesleyan Church Road in Lincolnton, faces 12 counts of taking indecent liberties with a child for allegedly engaging in appropriate touching with a boy and girl, both eight years old, authorities said.
Sgt. Steven Dover with Gaston County Police told the Times-News Thursday afternoon that the incidents occurred at both a residence and public location in the county.
In addition, Payseur knew the victims, Dover said. Additional details in the case were not released in order to protect the child victims’ identities.
Gaston County authorities noted that Payseur does not have a history of criminal activity in the county. He also doesn’t have any offenses listed with the North Carolina Department of Correction.
