Suspect indicted on molestation charges

Staff Writer
A Catawba County man accused of sexually molesting two children whom he was babysitting in Lincoln County in 2007 was indicted on Monday.
Kenneth Lee Morgan, 24, of 1810 18th
Avenue NE, LOT 37 in Hickory, faces one felony count of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of indecent liberties with a minor, according to the Lincoln County Clerk of Court’s Office.
Authorities said they’ve been on the hunt for Morgan since November 2010, when they first issued the true bill.
Morgan was initially arrested for taking indecent liberties with a minor in August 2010 and released from the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center on a $20,000 secured bond, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office authorities said.
The criminal acts occurred sometime between January and November 2007 while Morgan was watching a friend’s children, deputies said.
Additional details regarding the victims’ ages and exactly where the incident occurred were not available at time of publication.
Morgan’s currently being held in the county jail under a $200,000 secured bond.
