The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet is Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Citizens Center in downtown Lincolnton.
According to a news release sent out by the Chamber, guest speakers for the evening will be Lynn Minges, assistant secretary of tourism, marketing and global branding with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and Bill McMillan, senior director of sales for Visit Charlotte. Both will be discussing the impact and value of tourism in the state.
Presented by Duke Energy, the banquet will feature the “passing of the gavel of leadership from 2011 Chair of the Board Donna Beringer, Carolina Federal Credit Union, to Buddy Collins, Edward Jones, 2012 Chair of the Board,” says the release.
Additionally, other items on the agenda will include recognition of outgoing board members and a presentation of the volunteer, new member, small-business person and ambassador of the year.
The Lincolnton Rotary Club and the Business and Professional Womens’ Organization will present their man and woman of the year awards, and the Lincoln Economic Development Association will announce its annual industry of the year.
The cost to attend the banquet is $25 a person for Chamber members and their guests.
