Spay/Neuter

Registration for the Humane Society of Lincoln County’s spay/neuter clinic is 1-4 p.m. today and 4-6 p.m. Thursday. The actual clinic is Nov. 8. Call (704) 732-9022 Ext. 1 for more information.

 

Housing Authority

The Public Housing Authority meets 5:30 p.m. Thursday at their offices on McBee Street in Lincolnton. This meeting is open to the public.

 

Covekeepers

Lake Norman Covekeepers will meet 7 p.m. Thursday at the East Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department, 406 South Pilot Knob Road in Stanley. The guest speaker is a corporate executive with a national firm headquartered near the lake. He will address water quality and environmental respect from both corporations and individuals. Church BBQ

Blood Drive

Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church, 4640 Webbs Chapel Church Rd. in Denver, is hosting a blood drive 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Appointments can be made by calling (704) 483-9434, but walk-ins are welcome.

 

BBQ to Go

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4051 King Wilkinson Road in Lincolnton, is selling BBQ to go 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday. Plates are $8. Call (704) 735-2968 to order.

 

Haunted Trail

The “Old Slaughter House Haunted Trail” to benefit the Humane Society of Lincoln County will be 7-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The trail is located at 2457 Industrial Park Road in Lincolnton off Clarks Creek Road. Tickets are $10. This event is not recommended for small children.

 

Big Dixie Boggers

Come join the Big Dixie Boggers at the farm, Amity Church Road in Pumpkin Center, for a great weekend of riding, camping and food. The farm will open 3 p.m. Friday and trick or treating for the kids begins at dusk. A 3-day pass is $10 per person. There is a $10 charge per trail vehicle.

 

Octoberfest

Cross Roads Evolution travel baseball team will host Octoberfest 11 a.m. Saturday at the High Shoals Park. Activities include horse rides, face painting and pie throwing. Cornhole Tournament

Harvest Fest

Fall Festival

Middle Cross Baptist Church will host a fall festival 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the church, 3474 Crouse School Rd. in Crouse. There will be free food, games, inflatable and more. Spooktacular

The Partnership for Children of Lincoln and Gaston Counties will host a family “Spooktacular” 12-4 p.m. Saturday on the grounds of Woodmill Winery. Fish Fry

Crouse United Methodist Church, Old Hwy. 150 in Crouse, will host a fish fry 4-7 p.m. Saturday. Fish, oyster stew and all the trimmings will be available. Suggested donation is $8 per plate. Proceeds benefit the building and renovation fund.

 

Trunk or Treat

Hill’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 988 S. Highway 16 in Lowesville, will sponsor Trunk or Treat beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday with free hot dogs and pizza. Blazin’ Trails Cowboy Church, located at the Ponderosa on Startown Road in Lincolnton, will host “Cowboy Harvest Hoedown” 3-6 p.m. Sunday. Food, fun, games and trunk or treat will be featured. The public is invited for an afternoon of fun and fellowship.

 

Octoberfest

Asbury United Methodist Church in Lincolnton will celebrate Octoberfest 5 p.m. Sunday. The public is invited to enjoy a hot dog supper, games, cake walk, hayrides and trunk or treat.

 

Night of Praise

David’s Chapel Buffet

David’s Chapel United Methodist Church is hosting a country buffet beginning at 12 p.m. Sunday. Ham and chicken pie with all the trimmings will be served for donations. Proceeds go toward medical expenses for Monica Self.

 

The Way Skate Ministry

“The Way” skate ministry will provide three free skate sessions and demos 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Betty G. Ross City Park, 800 Madison Street in Lincolnton. Helmets and signed waivers are required. Board of Health

The Lincoln County Board of Health meets 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Board Room of the Health Department, 151 Sigmon Road in Lincolnton. The business meeting will be 6-7 p.m. followed by board member orientation training from 7-9 p.m.

 

LHS Class of ‘65

A group of Lincolnton High Class of ’65 graduates has been meeting for lunch at various locations since June. The next meeting will be 12 noon Tuesday at Court Street Grill.

Lincoln County Senior Services will host a Caregivers Appreciation Celebration 10 a.m. Nov. 7. The event is part of National Caregivers Month for Lincoln County and will honor caregivers who care for loved ones. No Meeting

Lincoln County Democratic Women will not meet this month. Meetings will resume in November.
