$7K raised in Hunger Walk, down from 2010

Although the turnout for Sunday’s Hunger Walk was less than last year’s event, 77 walkers were successful in raising about $7,000 to help feed Lincoln County residents.

“We were down about 30 percent, since we raised $10,000 last year,” said Susan Brymer, Executive Director of Christian Ministries.

Brymer is hopeful that some walkers have not collected all of their donations and the amount raised will increase.

“I am grateful for those who did come out and walk and for those who helped us raise donations,” Brymer said.

Those wanting to make a donation to the hunger campaign have several options for doing so: Mail donations to P. O. Box 423, Lincolnton, N. C. 28093

Drop off donations at the Ministries office on S. Academy Street in Lincolnton between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Drop off donations at the Lincolnton BB&T. Be sure to earmark the check as “Hunger.”

Brymer reported that those who came out and walked enjoyed a beautiful afternoon and had no problems.
