Three still wanted in drug round-up

 

Local law enforcement officers arrested three more drug suspects in the first week of October, yet remain on the hunt for the final three individuals still wanted from this summer’s record-breaking drug round-up, Operation Rolling 50.

Christina Danielle Helms, 33, of 101 Shadowbrook Drive in Mt. Holly, was apprehended on Wednesday and charged with two felony counts each of sell and deliver heroin and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin.

In addition, Wayne Forest Cogdill, 64, who’s last known address was Lenora Drive in Lincolnton, and Carl Federick Burris, 43, of 200 East Page Street in Gastonia, were arrested on Sept. 26 and Sept. 7, according to Sheriff’s Office authorities.

Cogdill faces felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia while Burris has been charged with felony sell and deliver cocaine and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, deputies said.

In July, a grand jury indicted at least 50 individuals, considered to be “street-level dealers,” on nearly 100 drug-related charges. The court handed the indictments following an undercover operation led by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office between December 2010 and July 2011, authorities said.

The Sheriff’s Office commenced the round-up on Aug. 3 with assistance from multiple neighboring law enforcement agencies from Iredell, Catawba and Gaston counties.

Together, officers said they arrested more than 15 individuals living within Lincoln County lines. Since August, law enforcement officials have been apprehending additional suspects.

However, authorities noted that the following out-of-county residents have yet to be arrested:

Terry Danyail Thompson, Jr., 31, who’s last known address is 4573 Burlwood Place in Catawba, N.C. He’s wanted for one felony count each of sell and deliver cocaine and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine. Thompson’s additionally wanted on several unrelated charges from Catawba County authorities.

Joshua Donta “Bombay” Massey, 22, of 4200 Hovis Road, trailer 38 in Charlotte, is wanted for the sale and delivery of cocaine and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine.

Karen Michelle Helms, 28, of 118 Vista Park Drive in Dallas, is wanted for one felony count each of sell and deliver heroin and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin.

Tips may remain anonymous, and any tips leading to an arrest could receive a reward of up to $1,000.
