Candidate: Not on record about $2M
I don’t know why I was so shocked to see such a dishonest and deceptive ad as the Republican party ran in the Lincoln Times-News on October 5.
This is about as far from the truth as I have ever seen. As a candidate for mayor of Lincolnton, I have never gone on record about spending a dime, much less $2Â million for renovations for any city building.
This is a prime example of the dirty politics that people hate to see in an election.
I cannot imagine a candidate that is running on their integrity and Christian values being a party to such fraudulent advertising.
Pamela C. Huskey,
Crews did great job respond to storm
While the sudden and violent storm that tore through our town on Sunday September 25 left extensive property damage in its wake, our personal safety and inconvenience was minimized by the prompt response of our City and County officials and employees.
Within the hour, City Public Works and Utilities staff and equipment were clearing blocked streets and repairing downed power lines.
For many of us, power was restored in four to five hours. Also, Fire and Police Department members were highly visible and on hand to provide needed assistance.
How reassuring it is to know that we have such dedicated and truly committed public employees.
