Student passes out, taken to ER

A 12-year-old student at West Lincoln Middle School was taken to the hospital after she was discovered to be unresponsive late Friday morning.

Lincoln County Emergency Medical Services responded to the school just before 11 a.m. in reference to an unresponsive or fainting person, according to EMS Public Information Officer Kim Green.

The student was transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln with a non-life-threatening illness, authorities said.

EMS officials said they were not authorized to release the girl’s name.
