FALL BAZAAR

McKendree United Methodist Church plans to host the United Methodist Women’s fall bazaar from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Festivities include a yard sale and crafts. Breakfast and lunch will also be served. The event is free for the public. For more information, call 704-530-4724.

 

OCTOBERFEST

Trinity Lutheran Church in Vale will host its annual Octoberfest event at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The festivities will start with worship followed by food, fun and fellowship. The Sigmon Stringers will perform special music at 1:30 p.m. All are invited to attend.

 

FALL FESTIVAL

Liberty Baptist Church in Lincolnton will host their fall festival from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 8. The event is free and open to the public with festivities that include free food, games, door prizes and bounce houses. “SPOOKS PARADE”

The City of Cherryville and Cherryville Chamber of Commerce are co-hosting the ninth annual “Little Spooks Parade” at 10 a.m. on Oct. 28 on Main Street. Area daycare centers, police and fire departments and Cherryville High School band members will march in the parade. The public is invited to attend the free event in costume.

 

SECURITY CLASSES

Blackburn Baptist Church is hosting a free five-week long computer security class. Topics include basic computer security terms and virus and email protection, among others. Classes start at 7 p.m. Tuesday and will be held every Tuesday through Nov. 1. Only 30 spots are available. To sign up, email  info@blackburnchurch.org.

 

PARK JAM

High Shoals Park Committee presents the first annual “Park Jam” from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at High Shoals City Park. The event features live DJ music, food and dancing. For more details, call Lisa Stamey at 980-241-5527.

 

ART COMPETITION

The Lincoln Cultural Center is hosting the annual Paul C. Rhyne Art Competition from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 7. Entry fee for each artistic piece is $15. Work is being accepted through this Friday. Call 704-732-9044 for special arrangements and additional information.
