CITY COUNCIL

The Lincolnton City Council will hold a special meeting 6 p.m. today at City Hall due to a grant resolution deadline. This meeting is open to the public.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

The Lincoln Photography Club will meet 7 p.m. today at the Lincoln Cultural Center, 401 E. Main Street in Lincolnton. Photography educator Dave Kelly will discuss working with histograms.

 

GASTON BASIC SKILLS

Gaston College Lincoln Campus will offer a Basic Skills New Student Orientation class for those interested in earning a GED or Adult High School diploma 9 a.m. to noon and 5:30-8:30 p.m. today through Thursday. For more information, call (704) 922-2268.

SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC

Registration for the October spay/neuter clinic sponsored by the Humane Society of Lincoln County is 1-4 p.m. Wednesday and 4-6 p.m. Thursday at 2422 Country Club Road in Lincolnton. The actual clinic will be October 11. Call (704) 732-9022, Ext. 1 for more information.

 

WLHS CLASS OF 2006

The WLHS Class of 2006 5-year reunion will be Friday at Howard’s Creek Community Center after the West Lincoln vs. Cherryville football game. Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the football game on Friday. For more info, contact wlhsclassof2006@yahoo.com.

 

GEMS AND MINERALS

FISH FRY

Two Fish and Five Loaves food pantry will sponsor a plate sale fish fry 11 a.m. until sold out Friday in the Big Lots parking lot in Lincolnton. All profits go to the non-profit food pantry. For more information or to order early, call (980) 241-1724 (Without Walls Freedom Center).

 

KID’S CONSIGNMENT

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4051 King Wilkinson Road in Lincolnton, will have a fall/winter kid’s consignment sale 7:30-9:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at their Family Life Center. Gently used kid’s clothing, shoes, toys, equipment and more will be sold.

 

STANLEY CREEK RUN

The 3rd annual Stanley Creek Massacre 5K and 10K races will be Saturday in downtown Stanley. These races provide a hilly/challenging race experience. The race starts at 8 a.m. Registration is $20 by Sept. 23. For more information, call (704) 922-2160.

 

YOUTH FUNDRAISER

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 2042 Salem Church Road in Lincolnton, will host a huge multi-family yard sale 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the corner of Salem Church Road  and Philadelphia Church Road. Proceeds benefit youth programs.

 

KINGS MOUNTAIN 1990
