Request for haunted house permit withdrawn

A request to operate a haunted house in Lincolnton has been withdrawn, said Lincolnton Planning Director Laura Simmons.
Denise Propst originally requested a conditional use permit to operate a temporary haunted house during the month of October.
The haunted house would have been at 564 S. Grove St. Ext. at the former Carolina Mills building.
However, Simmons said Propst sent a letter to the Lincolnton Planning Board asking to for the request to be withdrawn shortly before its meeting last Tuesday.
Simmons said that some of Propst’s workers took permanent jobs elsewhere and she was unable to complete the haunted house in time without their help.
The Planning Board recommended approval of the withdrawal.by Sarah Melton
