Lincoln County Sheriffâ€™s deputies located and apprehended a man wanted for two counts of statutory rape.
Working on a tip, sheriffâ€™s deputies found Dennis Richard McCurry, 37, of the 300 block of Lambs Way, Iron Station hiding in a residence in the 2500 block of Country Club Road.
Deputies Steve Grinnell and Justin Frye went to the residence identified a man as McCurry inside the residence. The officers requested backup from Sgt. Robert Hooks and a search of the home turned up McCurry hiding inside.
McCurry ran out a door going into the basement, but authorities took him into custody following struggle.
Detective Don Mauldin with the Lincoln County Sheriffâ€™s Office filed charges for McCurry on July 5 with two counts of statutory rape involving a 15-year-old juvenile in 2005. Mauldin said McCurry knew the victim, but they were not related.
Warrants are also out for McCurry from Modesto, Calif. for possession of dangerous drugs, although California authorities said they will not extradite. He is now facing two additional charges of obstructing and delaying a public official.
McCurry is under a $40,500 secured bond and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center.
Officers cited a second person for obstructing and delaying an officer. Tamara Lynn Correll, 41, of the 2500 block of Country Club Road is charged with two counts of obstructing and delaying a public official and harboring a fugitive.
Correllâ€™s bond is set at $2,000.
