Student Art Show on display at Lincoln Cultural Center

On May 20 hundreds of proud children excitedly brought family members to see their artwork on display at the Lincoln Cultural Center.
The Annual Lincoln County Student Art Show hosted by the Arts Council of Lincoln County opened with an awards ceremony for all grade levels.
Gary Lee, president of the Arts Council of Lincoln County, greeted artists and their families and opened the presentations with Elaine Jenkins of Lincoln County Schools as master of ceremonies.
All elementary students received a blue ribbon and a pencil for their artwork.
The middle and high school works were judged for cash prizes.
The judge for this year was Randy Bell of Hickory. He teaches art at Fred T. Foard High School in Catawba County and teaches continuing education art at Catawba Valley Community College. He has been teaching for 26 years.
Following each awards ceremony students and their families enjoyed a reception. The event was sponsored by the Lincoln Cultural Center, Lincoln County Schools, Rising Sun Pottery, Lincoln Printing Services, Lucky Country and Drum’s Florist.
The show will run through June 1. The winners are as follows:
