Book sale held for branch library

The West Lincoln Library Auxiliary will hold a book sale March 17 with thousands of titles available.
The sale will be held at Charles R. Jonas Library, located at 306 W. Main St. in Lincolnton. Hardcover books will be $2 and paperbacks will be $1.
There will also be audio-visual and reference items for sale as well as condensed books, magazines and other materials.
This will be the second book sale of the year, and organizers believe it will become an annual tradition.
“We have very little storage space to keep the books year round, and that’s kind of why we’re going to have two because we run out of room half-way through the year,” said Selina Keever, branch supervisor. “This way we won’t have to turn books away when we run out of space.”
Members of the West Lincoln Library Auxiliary have volunteered to organize and run the sale. All proceeds will go to the west Lincoln’s library. Keever says the funds will be used on “mostly new materials – books, DVDs. It will just depend on what we need at the time.”
A new location is also on Keever’s mind, although the book sale won’t alone won’t be able to fund it.
“We’re getting busier all the time,” Keever said. “We’re outgrowing the space. When we have any event or anything, we’re bursting at the seams.”
Want to go? The book sale will be held at the Charles R. Jonas Library, located at 306 W. Main St. in Lincolnton on March 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cash or checks will be accepted for sales. Boxes and bags will be provided for purchases. For more information call (704) 276-9946.
