Locks of Love

Miranda Cecchini, 11, a sixth-grader at Lincoln Middle School began 2007 with a bang, receiving her first-ever haircut and donating her nearly 10Ѕ inch long tresses to Locks of Love. Her decision to do this was prompted in August 2000, when a grandmother died from ovarian cancer. Although only 4-years-old at the time, the loss had an impact. Last year, Cecchini participated in the Relay for Life at Lincolnton High School, and has vowed to go back every year. She has donated her hair to Locks of Love in order that someone in need of wig due to cancer treatments may have one, keenly remembering when she would wear her grandmother’s wigs. Contributed Photo
