Students come home champions in Dance Machine competition

Trophies were the order of the day as students with the Dancers Edge Dance Studio Competition team garnered a number of them June 21 – 24 in Wilkesboro, where they participated in the Dance Machine National Performing Arts Championship. Dancers Edge Dance Studio Competition students came away with armfuls of awards from the Dance Machine National Performing Arts Championships held June 21 – 24 in Wilkesboro.
Altogether, they pulled in four Awesome Gold awards; an eighth overall for a tap dance routine; fourth overall for lyrical routine; third overall for clogging routine; and second overall for jazz routine.
Individual awards went to Kaylin Craig and Arianna Timmerman, who both received platinum awards for the photogenic competition; Timmerman also won a ballet award and interview award, and was also a first runner up. She also placed second overall with her solo dance performance.
Craig received an Awesome Gold and was seventh overall with her solo dance performance.
Ashley Spurrier received a gold award for her clogging routine.
Emily Berry, DeAndra Easter, Megan Jenkins and Allison McLeod performed in the opening number routine as part of the “Dream Team” performance.
Owner/instructor Kimberly Noles won a best choreography award. She was also the recipient of a 6-foot trophy for a lyrical routine.
