The Rev. Paula Judy became pastor of Messiah United Methodist Church June 27.
She earned her bachelorâ€™s degree from North Carolina State University and her masterâ€™s of divinity from Duke Divinity School. She is an ordained minister of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Judy previously pastored churches in the Albermarle and Salisbury districts and has served as a hospice chaplain and grief counselor.
She is coming from serving four years as associate pastor at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Charlotte, where her husband, the Rev. K. Wesley Judy has been senior pastor.
Her husband is projected to become the pastor of First United Methodist Church in Forest City. They have two adult children and a four year-old grandson.
