Although the search for Clyde Davis ended on a sad note, with the discovery of his body in the barn, obscured by the bales of hay stored within, we thank the more than 100 people from over five counties who made the effort to find Mr. Davis.
All of us wish matters would have turned out different, and realize the devastating impact to family, friends and those who consisted of the search teams. Thus whatever words we can offer may be and probably is of little consolation. Nevertheless, the contribution these people made, the majority of them probably strangers before today, and most who in all probability may never see each other again, needs to be recognized.
What we witnessed was a display of the best and finest in people. Let it be testament to our character as a people, a community and a nation.
