Special Olympics of Lincoln County will hold their annual Spring Games on Friday, April 28 at Lincolnton High Schoolâ€™s Stadium.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will include Special Olympians from across Lincoln County, who will compete in track and field events: wheelchair races, running, walking, jumping and throwing events.
Everyone is invited to come out and cheer these special athletes.

Post 455 signups
American Legion Post 455 will have signups this Sunday at two separate locations.
From 4-5 p.m., signups will be held at the East Lincoln Optimist Clubhouse and at 5:30-6:30 p.m. registration will be held at Boger City Fire Department.
A-Team players can not turn 19 prior to Jan. 1, while B-Team players can not turn 18 prior to Jan. 1.
Trey Whiteside Memorial Golf Tourney
The First Annual Trey Whiteside Memorial Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament will be held May 6 at Lincoln Country Club.
The tournament will be sponsored by Jenkins Electric Company and will have four-person teams in captainâ€™s choice format.
Lunch and registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. shotgun start following.
There will be a $50 entry fee with trophies rewarded to first, second and place. Also, there will be prizes awarded for the longest drive, longest putt and most accurate drive.

Masters of the Amateurs Tourney
The Abernethy Dealerships are sponsoring the second annual â€˜Masters of the Amateurs,â€™ Golf Tournament at Lincoln Country Club on Friday, May 19.
Check-in and lunch will take place at 10:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon.
Participants will receive a gift bag, lunch, snacks, drinks and plenty of opportunities for quality prizes.
