Current issues and concerns about thyroid glands will be the topic at the next preventative health series that takes place 7 p.m. on Monday, April 10, at Furr Hall of St. Peter’s by the Lake Episcopal Church. Dr. Rod Redelsperger and Kelli Miller with Carolina Internal Medicine will lead the program.

The friends of the Florence Shanklin Library will hold its annual meeting 7 p.m. on Monday, April 10, at the library. Following the meeting, entertainment will be presented by Hardin Minor, founder of OMIMEO mime theater. For more information, call (704) 483-3589.

The 21st annual Starwberry Festival, to benefit the East Lincoln High School parent/teachers association will be held 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at ELHS. The group is also planning a fashion show at 6:30 p.m. at Verdict Ridge Country Club on Thursday, May 11. Tickets for that show are $20 and there are a limit of 150 tickets.
