Lions Club offers scholarships

Calling all Lincoln County high school seniors. Are you a legal resident of Lincoln County and the United States of America? Are you planning to further your education in college?
If you answered yes to these questions, you might be interested in applying for one of two competitive countywide scholarships being awarded by the Lincolnton Lions Club.
As the only Lions Club serving the residents of Lincoln County, the Lincolnton Lions Club has developed two $500 competitive, countywide college scholarships.
The seventh annual Benjamin Roe Lions Memorial Scholarship was established by Lincolnton Lions Club in memory of Lion Ray and Amy Chilcote’s first-born son, Benjamin Roe.
These scholarships are presented each year to two high school seniors based on their academic achievements, financial needs and volunteer service to their schools and community.
Special consideration will be given to students pursuing a degree in the health field.
All applicants are required to submit a completed application, high school transcript, two reference letters and write an original theme on volunteerism.
Applications may be secured from guidance counselors or by calling Lion Charles Stevens at (704) 735-7723.
