A newspaper has many responsibilities to the community(ies) it serves that extend far beyond simple reporting news of events that have occurred.
Perhaps the most important responsibility it bears is providing its readers what they want and need that they don’t get from other sources (such as radio, television, magazines, the Internet, etc.).
In the past year, we have embarked upon a program to better reflect what we believe a community newspaper should be, and for the most part, the results have been encouraging. However, our concern is, we don’t want to become complacent, flush with the success we have achieved, which is where you, our readers, come into the picture.
We need to hear from you. We need you to tell us in your opinion what and where we still need to improve; features you would like us to consider carrying, and those changes you haven’t liked.
But please, no phone calls. Either write us at P.O. Box 40, Lincolnton NC 28093, or email to: email@example.com.
We look forward to your responses.
