Advance tickets for championship
Tickets to Lincolntonâ€™s home playoff game versus Clinton will be on sale for $9 apiece at Lincoln Athletics, Byrdâ€™s Sundries, City Lunch and Lincolnton High School.
If one waits to purchase their ticket at the gate at Kennan Stadium, the cost will be $10. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow at the aforementioned locations.
No passes that are not North Carolina High School Athletic Association passes will be honoredâ€”county passes fall under that category.
Lincolnton High School will also take several buses to Chapel Hill full of fans. To reserve your place on one of the buses, please contact Mrs. Turbyfill at 704-735-3089. The cost for a slot on one of these buses is $29, which includes a ticket into the game.
If youâ€™re going to Chapel Hill
Kids ages four and under get in free. No spectators will be allowed to bring collers or food containers and all bags brought into Kenan Stadium will be subject to search.
Also, no umbrellas will be allowed as well as no body paint. Face stickers are permitted. Air horns and noise makers are also prohibited.
Parking will be $5 upon arrival at Chapel Hill. Those wanting to stay and watch the Shelby/Reidsville game will have to stay in their seat as fans will not be allowed to leave the stadium and come back.
Wilson continues to flourish as a starter
Former Lincolnton star Eric Wilson scored 11 points to help lead Western Carolina to a 80-64 victory over University of North Carolina Asheville Saturday night.
Wilson and the Catamounts will the No. 17 team in the country tonight the Maryland Terrapins in College Park, Maryland.
Terrapins head coach Gary Williams enters the game with 541 career coaching wins, while Westernâ€™s head coach has 514 in his career. Williams is 11th on the winningest coaches list, while Hunter is 13th.
Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.
Free basketball clinic
Lincolnton/Lincoln County Parks and Recreation department will hold free basketball clinics at Betty G. Ross Park on Dec. 10.
Grades 2-4 will meet from 10-11 a.m., grades 5-6 will meet from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and grades 7-12 will meet from 12:30-2 p.m.
Registration and coach recruitment for the 2005 season will be held at all clinics and will be accepted through Monday, Dec. 12.
Cost per child is $25.
