North Lincolnâ€™s wrestling team chalked up three more victories at the North Lincoln Duals this week.
The Knights beat West Caldwell 42-28, Lincolnton 52-30 and Hibriten 45-36.
Hanks, Licourt, Smith, the Wallace brothers and Mintun each went 3-0. Fincham went 2-0. Saunders went 2-1.
Ashe, Goodson and Frady recorded one victory apiece.
Lincolntonâ€™s Ruiz, Lopez, Clark, and the Arce brothers recorded wins against the Knights.
The North Lincoln Knights men and womenâ€™s swim team finished second in their season openers Tuesday.
The menâ€™s team lost a slight advantage over Kings Mountain in the final event to finish as runner-up.
On a brighter note for the Knights, several swimmers and relay teams qualified for state competition.
State qualifiers for the men include the 200- yard medley relay team of Mark Lambert, Matt Roseman, Kyle Wilkinson, and Ryan Haskins; the 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relay team of Sean Bertran, Phillip Boyle, Colby Jackson, and Collin Murdock. In addition, Jackson qualified in the 200-yard freestyle.
State qualifiers for the women include the 200-yard medley relay team of Nicole Baxter, Sara Edwards, Nickele Gates, and Kelsey Lee; the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Jenny Boyle, Baxter, Edwards, and Lee. In addition, Edwards qualified in the 50-yard freestyle and Kelsey Lee in the 100-yard backstroke events. Qualifying for the third consecutive year in the 100-yard breaststroke, Gates swam her fastest time to date.
Coaches Libby Fletcher and Missy Wilkinson were very impressed by the efforts of all 34 North Lincoln swimmers who participated in this meet. The team will face more tough competition on Tuesday, November 19 at the Hickory YMCA against Hickory, Fred T. Foard, and East Lincoln.
