Wolves soccer
The Lincolnton Wolves (12-1-3, 8-1-1) will host Ledford, from Rowan County, Wednesday. The game will start at 6 p.m. and will be played on Von Ray Harris Field. Admission for the game is $5.
First-year head coach Andrew Grant led the Wolves to a second-place finish to league champ South Iredell.

Advance tickets for North/Wolves
Advance tickets will be on sale at Lincoln Athletics for Friday’s game between the Lincolnton Wolves and the North Lincoln Knights to be played at Knights Stadium in ‘the Dungeon.’
Tickets are $5 and will allow people wise enough to buy them the luxury of bypassing expected long ticket lines.

Adrian L. Shuford YMCA sign-ups
The Adrian L. Shuford Jr. YMCA is taking registration for its youth basketball leagues. Ages 3-16, registration is currently underway and will end on Nov. 11.
If you register between Nov. 6-11 a $5 late fee will be added. Prices for 3-4 year olds: members: $40, non-members: $55. Ages 5 and up: members: $48, non-members: $68.
The Shuford YMCA is also taking registration for its youth soccer league. Kids ages 6-15 are eligible to participate in the co-ed league. The same registration stipulations (as above) apply. Cost is $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
Registration is also underway for adult basketball leagues, industrial and church. Cost per team is $240 plus official fees. Registration will go from Oct. 23-Nov. 30. For more information, contact Carlos Arias at 828-464-6130.

Lincoln Optimist
Basketball
Sign-ups are underway for basketball through Nov. 26 for Lincoln Optimist Basketball.
On Saturdays from 10 a.m.-noon at Byrd’s Sundries is one location and another option is on weekdays at Kate McCall (located at 317 E. Pine Street) from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Boys and girls kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible. If you would like to sponsor or coach a team, contact Chris Brogden at 704-732-1987 before 9 p.m.

YMCA Events
The YMCA also is taking registration for the ‘Lil Dribblers’ Basketball.
The 3-6 year old youngsters will practice the fundamentals of basketball while being encouraged to grow spiritually, mentally and physically in a fun, safe environment.
‘Lil Dribblers’ will meet Saturdays, Oct. 15-Nov. 12 from 9-10 a.m. in the YMCA gym. The cost is $35 for members and $50 for non-members.

Carolina Crossfire
The Carolina Crossfire Girls fast pitch softball team will have tryouts at Crest Middle School softball field on Saturday Nov. 5 and Sunday Nov. 6.
On Nov. 5, sign-ups are as follows: 14-and-under at 10:30 a.m. 16-and-under at 12:30 p.m.
And on Nov. 6, sign-ups for the 14-and-under will take place at 1:30 p.m. and 16-and-under at 3:30 p.m.

Lincoln County Hall of Fame tickets
The Lincoln County Sports Hall of Fame will be held Nov. 12 at the James W. Warren Citizen Center at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $25 apiece and can be purchased at Byrd’s Sundries, Lentz Recreation Center and from any Sports Hall of Fame board member.
