The PC Homes â€œSportstalkâ€ show on Saturday mornings with David Keever and Mike Powell is shifting its time slot. The show, broadcast on 1050 WLON and 1590 WCSL, will move from its original 8:30 time to 9:30AM.
The 90-minute weekly show will focus primarily on high school football in the upcoming weeks. â€œSportstalkâ€ is a live call-in show and welcomes phone calls from area coaches and fans. The studio line is 704-735-8071.
If things go as planned, the show could be broadcast live throughout the football season from various local restaurants.
Fatz tailgate party changed
There will be a tailgate party sponsored by Fatz before the Cherryville/Lincolnton game at Lincolnton on Oct. 28, which is Parentsâ€™ Night.
The party will be held on the practice field with each plate costing $10.
Tickets can be purchased through any Lincolnton coach, fall athlete or through Lincolnton High School.

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Shelby will hold its first annual Golf Tournament on Oct 22 at Pine Grove Golf Club in Shelby.
The tournament will be a four-player captainâ€™s choice format with a shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place teams along with longest drive, closest to the pin, most accurate drive and longest putt.
There will also be door-prize drawings. The entry fee is $40 per player or $160 per team with up to two mulligans per player available for $5 each.

EL Alumni Tourney
The Diversity Awarness Club of East Lincoln High School is sponsoring an Alumni Basketball Tournament at East Lincoln on Saturday, Oct. 22 beginning at 9 a.m.

The cost will be $10 per player. East Lincoln is asking that each team has at least seven players and no more than 10.

For the second straight year, the physical education department at North Lincoln will host a basketball game featuring â€˜Honey Pot,â€™ a comedy donkey.
Donkey basketball is played with four donkeys and four riders on each team. Rules are necessary, but since the donkeys canâ€™t read and players will be too excited to remember them, the referee will make up rules as the game is played.
The Community Organization team will attempt to defend their title after defeating the Student Blue team 8-6 in the championship last year.
At halftime, there will be free donkey rides to kids 12-and-under. Children with a paid admission ticket in hand, accompanied by a paying parent or guardian will be eligible for the ride.
Presale tickets can be purchased for $5 at the North Lincoln High School main office. At the gate, tickets will be $8. Proceeds will benefit the Knightsâ€™ athletic programs.
The Lincoln County YMCA is currently taking registration for a menâ€™s 16-and-up basketball league to be held in the YMCA Gym being Nov. 5.
The registration deadline is Oct. 19. You do not have to be a YMCA member to join the league.

The YMCA is also currently taking registration for a co-ed dodgeball tournament that will take place Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. The deadline is Oct. 24.
Cost is $100 per team for a 10-player squad. You do not have to be a YMCA member.
The YMCA also is taking registration for the â€˜Lil Dribblersâ€™ Basketball.
The 3-6 year old youngsters will practice the fundamentals of basketball while being encouraged to grow spiritually, mentally and physically in a fun, safe environment.
â€˜Lil Dribblersâ€™ will meet Saturdays, Oct. 15-Nov. 12 from 9-10 a.m. in the YMCA gym. The cost is $35 for members and $50 for non-members.
Lincoln Co. Hall of Fame tickets
The Lincoln County Sports Hall of Fame will be held Nov. 12 at the James W. Warren Citizen Center at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $25 apiece and can be purchased at Byrdâ€™s Sundries, Lentz Recreation Center and from any Sports Hall of Fame board member.
