Wolves down Ironmen

Lincolnton beat Cherryville 9-0 Monday in tennis.
Shelley Stevens, Angela Graham, Betty Royster, Anna Kiser, Lauren Fortkort and Sheldon McCurry recorded wins in singles.
Stevens/Graham, Royster/Kiser and Fortkort/McCurry notched wins in doubles.
Wiseman/Poston won in exhibition 8-3 for the Wolves, who upped their record to 10-4, 4-1 in the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A.

North vs. West tennis
The Lady Knights beat the Rebels 6-3 Monday to remain unbeaten in the Southern Piedmont.
Caroline Farris, Nataleigh Hitt, Courtney Feldon and May Eisner recorded wins in singles for North Lincoln.
Nichol Mick and Abby Cole had singles victories for West Lincoln.
In doubles, Young/Cole beat Farris/Kinney. Mozeley/Feldon and Hitt/Eisner recorded wins for the Knights.
Augusta Petrich/Beth Johnson recorded an 8-6 win in exhibition play.
North Lincoln improves its record to 8-2, 5-0 in the Southern Piedmont.

Lady Falcons softball

The East Lincoln Middle Lady Falcons remain unbeaten after defeating Pumpkin Center 5-0 Monday.
Sarah Martin scattered just five hits on the mound in recording the win for the Falcons.
Cyndy Benton led the team with two singles.
Peyton Huneycutt, Racquel Cooke, Lindsey Wright, Taylor Gaggio, Kelcey Alley and Amanda Francis each singled.

North Lincoln volleyball
The North Lincoln Lady Knights swept South Point Monday.
In varsity play, the Knights won 3-2; 12-25, 25-19, 25-20, 8-25, 15-11.
Chasity Morgan led the way with seven kills, nine aces and three blocks. Jenny Boyle had 11 assists, four aces and one dig.
Taylor Ewing had six kills, one ace and one block, while Kayleigh Brown chipped in six digs.
In JV action, North Lincoln beat South Point 27-25, 25-13. Ashley Thackeray had six kills, five blocks and one ace.
Annalise Farris contributed four digs, two assists and four aces. Darla Skidmore had six aces and two digs.

East Lincoln volleyball
East Lincoln beat Cherryville 3-0; 25-10, 25-3, 25-11 last Thursday.
Brittany Lackey led the Lady Mustangs with 14 aces and six kills. Dana Griffin had 12 aces and one dig and Krista Abernathy had four aces and 14 assists.
In JV play, Cherryville won 2-0;18-25, 19-25. Kendra Day had four aces and five kills.
The varsity improves to 12-7, 9-1 in the Southern Piedmont with the win. The JV Mustangs fall to 3-13, 2-7.
The East Lincoln Lady Mustangs split with Bandys last Wednesday.
Bandys won the varsity match 3-2;25-23, 19-25, 25-21, 16-25, 16-14.
Kassi Henry led the Mustangs with 21 kills, five aces, four roofs and five digs. Brittany Lackey had seven kills, four aces and seven digs.
Lauren Sharpe had 15 kills, eight blocks and three roofs. Krista Abernathy had 44 assists and six digs.
In JV action, Bandys won 2-0; 25-11, 25-5.

Falcons football
East Middle beat Lincolnton in football last Wednesday 34-14.
Austin Culp had nine carries for 111 yards in only one half of play.
Culp scored three touchdowns and all four two-point conversions.
Quarterback Josh Wilson had eight carries for 81 yards and one touchdown. Josh McPherson had five carries at full back for 24 yards and 56 yards on two kickoff returns.

East vs. West tennis
The Lady Mustangs bested the Rebels 6-3 last Wednesday.
Madeline Jones, Janna Mills and Caitlin Kreshon recorded wins in singles for East Lincoln.
LeeAnna Young, Abby Cole and Leah Limone notched wins for West Lincoln.
In doubles, Hall/Mills, Jones/Kreshon and Estridge Parker recorded wins.
