The second annual Business Expo kicks off Tuesday at 11 a.m., featuring many businesses in the Lincoln County area.
“I hope everyone comes out,†said Jack Funk, expo committee chair. “It will be educational and beneficial.â€
The day-long event will be held at the James W. Warren Citizen’s Center and will be featuring booths from 37 businesses, including the UPS Store, Wireway Husky, A-2-Z Promotional Products, Lincoln Medical Center, and Allen Tate Realtors.
Door prizes will be given away all day, massages by local chiropractors will be available and free blood pressure checks will be provided by Lincoln Medical Center.
Dale Jarett Racing Adventure will have show cars on display and Abernethy Automotive Dealers will have cars outside the citizen center.
A sports and movie silent memorabilia auction will take place with all the proceeds being donated to the local Katrina relief fund.
“We would like to get as much money as possible,†Funk said.
The hours of the expo have also been expanded this year until 7 p.m. Last year’s event only went till 5 p.m.
“A lot of people complained last year that they couldn’t get over there during the workday,†Funk said. “This will allow them to come after work.â€
Lunch and dinner will also be provided by seven local businesses including, Chillin & Grillin, Chuck Wagon Grill, Fatz Cafe, Lil Yummys, Mitchem’s Kitchen, Sagebrush and Taco & Tequila.
A live radio broadcast will be held all day from WLON, WKTC, and WGSE. Conrad the Crawdad, the mascot for the Hickory Crawdads baseball team, will make an appearance from noon – 2 p.m.
The event is sponsored by Bellsouth, Abernethy Automotive Dealers, R-Anell Homes, Allen Tate Realtors, Katie Wood, Inc., Lincoln Staffing, Hamilton & Austin Orthodontist and First Charter Bank.
