Mustangs remain undefeated
Lincolnton and East Lincoln split a volleyball match, as the Lady Mustangs recorded a varsity win and the Lady Wolves took the JV match.
East defended its home court winning 3-1; 24-26, 24-26, 25-23, 23-25.
Standouts for East were: Kassi Henry with seven aces, 19 kills and seven digs, Lauren Sharpe with 15 kills, five blocks, two roofs and two aces.
Brittany Lackey had two aces, seven kills and six digs, while Krista Abernathy had 41 assists, four digs and two aces.
Lincolnton standouts were: Kendal Bradley with 20 points and one kill, Charlotte Clark with 20 points, two aces and three kills and Jessie Cline with 18 points, one ace and one block.
Kim Zuniga had 17 points and seven kills, while Hannah Parker contributed 16 points, two blocks and one kill.
In JV play, the Lady Wolves won 2-0; 25-23, 25-21.
Rachel Lanier paced Lincolnton with 13 points. Elaine Gregory finished with 12 points and Brittney Morrow had 10 points.
Hannah Houk and Janna Seagle both chipped in five points. Morgan Wolf had four.
Stephanie Brown had a block.
East standouts were Neely Reid with two aces, five assists and two digs and Kendra Day with two kills, three digs and one ace.
The varsity Wolves fall to 2-3, 0-2 in the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A Conference. The JV improves to 2-2, 1-1.
The varsity Mustangs are now 4-2, 2-0 in SP 1A/2A, while the JV team is 1-5, 0-2.

Earlier in the week
Bandys beat Lincolnton in JV (2-0) and varsity (3-1 Wednesday.
Hannah Parker paced the Wolves with 23 points, five blocks, two aces and two kills. Kendal Bradley finished with 20 points and one ace.
For the JV Wolves, Janna Seagle led the team with seven points. Brittney Morrow finished with six.
Both Wolves’ teams fell to South Iredell in their conference opener.
The varsity lost 3-0 as Charlotte Clark led the way with nine points. Jessie Cline had eight points with one block.
South Iredell took the JV match 2-1. Rachel Lanier paced the Wolves with 16 points, one ace and two assists. Janna Seagle had 12 points, five kills, one assist and one ace.
Elaine Gregory and Hannah Houk contributed 11 points apiece.

North versus East Lincoln
The East Lincoln Mustangs beat North Lincoln 3-0; 25-19, 25-21, 25-21 Tuesday in varsity volleyball action.
North Lincoln standouts were: Janna Borbeau with seven assists, two digs and one ace, Jenny Boyle with five assists, one kill and one dig and Chasity Morgan with four kills and three blocks.
Kathryn Thorne contributed four kills and one dig, while Lauren Opstad had five aces and one dig.
East Lincoln standouts were: Kassi Henry who had 10 kills, five aces and three digs, Lauren Sharpe who had eight kills, three blocks and one ace and Katie Reel with six kills and one roof.
Krista Abernathy had 26 assists, one kills, two digs and one roof.
In JV play, North Lincoln beat East 2-0; 25-5, 27-25.
Standouts for North were: Taylor Ewing with three kills, one block, one dig and one ace, Annalise Farris with four aces, three assists and one dig.
Ashley Thackeray had three aces, two kills, one assist and one dig.
Standouts for East were: Neely Reid with three aces, three assists and one dig, Kendra Day with two aces, one kill and three digs and Jackie McCaslin with two aces, one kill and three digs.
The Lady Mustangs ups their varsity record to 3-2, 1-0 SP 1A/2A, while the JV fell to 1-4, 0-1.
The Lady Knights’ varsity record falls to 0-4 and 0-1 in the SP 1A/2A. The JV team is 2-2, 1-0.
