Adorned with bibles, devotional cards, church supplies, music and literature, Lighthouse Christian Store and Gift Shop is ready to serve Denver.
The store opened Monday as a second location to the one that is already in Lincolnton.
“For the last three years we have felt the need to open another location since our customer base has increased in Denver,†said Pam Crotts, who co-owns the bookstore with her husband, Gary.
Gary said it made sense to expand.
“Our customers encouraged us to come,†he said.
The Denver store has similar stuff to the store in Lincolnton with some new items.
Items that are sure to catch one’s eye include the “Suncatchers,†by John Baker Designs, the Heritage Lace items and the Willow Tree figures.
Opening a Christian bookstore has always been a dream of Gary’s. It is one that started over six years ago when the couple bought the store in Lincolnton.
“Some people come in and need help with a problem,†Pam said. “We look at it as a ministry for the Lord’s work.â€
So far, Pam said the response from the east Lincoln area has been well received.
“Customers are tickled that there is something in this area that they don’t have to drive to another area for,†she said.
There is a tentative grand opening celebration planned for Saturday, Sept. 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fox’s Pizza next door will serve pizza.
The store is located at 7558 N.C. 73, Suite 103 in the Pilot Knob Square. For more information call (704) 827-4111. Hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday.
