The Lincoln County Family YMCA Co-ed Dodge Ball Tournament is set for Aug. 27 starting at 10:30 a.m.
Registration will run through Aug. 22 with a $100 entry fee per team.
Each team must have a 10-player roster with at least two female players.

at West Lincoln
West Lincoln High School boys and girls cross country practice will open Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 8:30 a.m. at the high school.

The West Lincoln Optimist Club has announced its sign-up dates for fall youth sports.
The sports are football, grades second through seventh; fall baseball and softball, K-12; and soccer, ages 4-14.
Registration will be held at the West Lincoln Optimist Park today, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.
Additional sign-up dates are Aug. 1, Aug. 2, and Aug. 4 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., as well as Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. until noon.

Tryouts for East Lincoln High School volleyball open Aug. 8.
Tryouts for the jayvee team are from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and the varsity goes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lincolnton High School womenâ€™s tennis will open preseason practice Aug. 1 at 3 p.m., coach Phil Ayers announced. Prospects should report with proof of a current physical exam.
Wolves to conduct
Lincolnton High School football coach Scott Cloninger will conduct skill development mini-camps and seven-on-seven drills this week at Memorial Stadium.
The mini-camps are Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8 p.m., and the seven-on-seven drills are Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
Players must have a current physical in order to participate.

Josh Wright of Mooresville got his seventh win of the season at East Lincoln Speedway Saturday night by taking the checkered flag in the I.M.C.A. feature.
Wright took the lead on the final lap from Jamie Kuntz of Concord. Kuntz led most of the race before his car sustained a bent tie rod on lap 24.
Steven Holland of Charlotte was second, followed by Jim Henneborn of Catawba, Kuntz in fourth and Tom Kinney of Vale in fifth.
Ronnie White won the Late Model Modified-Sportsman main event. Pole-sitter Woody Vosburgh of Stanley finished second, then came Bryan Robinson of Gastonia, Johnny Walker of Denver and Jamie Gray of Gastonia to round out the top five.
Jamie Major of Alexis won the Stock Four race, his second win of the year.
Anthony Ritter of Dallas took the checkered flag in the Rookie Four race, and Tony Clements of Wythe, Va., came from the rear of the pack to win the Mini-Sprint feature.
John Anderson won the Road Hawg race.
It will be Youth Baseball Night this Saturday at the speedway at 7:30. The first 100 youth wearing a t-shirt or camp with a team logo will receive a free pass to a Charlotte Knights game.
