The Quilterâ€™s Haven will hold a one-hour class on how to make a Dresden plate wallhanging. The class entitled, â€œChristmas in July,â€ is designed to get in the holiday spirit in the middle of summer. The class will be held July 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $45.

The Democratic Mens Group of Lincoln County will meet Thursday, July 21 at 7 p.m. at Captainâ€™s Cap Restaurant, 1218 N N.C. 16. The theme of the meeting is â€œBe Gutsy, Be Charitable, Be Sincere, Be a Democrat.â€ The primary subjects will be planning for precinct picnics, the 10th Congressional District and honoring the legally mandated secrecy of the nationâ€™s intelligence workers. If there is a successful turn-out, meetings will continue every third Thursday of the month at 8 a.m. at the Captainâ€™s Cap Restaurant.
