NL Optimist Football
The North Lincoln Optimist Club will have football sign-ups for kids ages 7-13.
Anyone interested in playing should call 704-748-2360. If interested in being a coach please call the same number for more information.

Boger City Boosters
All prospective football players between the ages of 7-12 can now register for the fall football season.
The registration will cover the Boger City Steelers and Pumpkin Center Panthers. The teams will be divided according to their ages, 7-9 (Pee-Wee) and 10-12 (Midgets).
The Boger City Steelers is for kids that attend G.E. Massey, S. Ray Lowder, Love Memorial and Battleground. To play for the Steelers please contact David Painter at 704-748-8548 or 704-241-8466.
To play for the Pumpkin Center Panthers (Pumpkin Center, Iron Station and St. James) please contact Jimmy Dellinger at 828-308-8435 or 828-428-0927.
The cost for both teams is $45 and is scheduled to begin the first of August.

EL Basketball Camp
The first annual Lady Mustang Basketball Camp will be held June 27-30.
Any boy or girl that is in the rising third grade through the rising 10th grade is eligible to attend camp.
The boys’ sessions are divided in two groups with 7th-10th graders attending from 8:30 a.m.- noon and rising 3rd-6th graders attending from 1-4 p.m. daily.
The Lady Mustang Camp will run from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. daily.
Chip Ashley, who has instructed camps at Erskine College, Gardner-Webb, High Point and Winthrop University, will direct the camp.
The cost of the camps is $60 prior to the opening dates and $70 on June 20th, 27th or July 11th.
If interested, call East Lincoln High School and an application will be mailed to you.
Campers can come to two weeks of boys camp for a reduced fee of $110 if pre-registered or attend all three weeks for $150. There will be a $10 discount for families with two children enrolled.

Cheerleading Camp
The North Lincoln cheerleaders will host a camp this Saturday from 9-noon.
The camp is for children ages 7-16. Registration forms can be picked up at North Lincoln High School.
The cost of the camp is $20 before July 15th and $25 after.

‘Doc Watson’ Basketball Camp
The Lincoln County Family YMCA will host the ‘Doc Watson’ Basketball Camp July 18-22 from 9-noon.
The cost of the camp will be $85 for members. That fee includes a T-shirt, instruction and awards.
The instructor is Western Carolina basketball player Eric Wilson, who is Lincolnton’s all-time leading scorer.

Camp of Champions Basketball Camp
Dr. Andy Royals, senior pastor of Salem Baptist Church, will be directing the camp in July.
All Lincolnton area boys and girls third-sixth grade are encouraged to attend.
The boys camp will be held July 11-15, while the girls camp will run July 18-22. The location will be the New Life Baptist Church Family Life Center.
The cost for the camp is $75, which includes a t-shirt and certificate. The times will be 8 a.m.-noon, Monday through Friday.

EL Optimist Football
The East Lincoln Optimist Club will hold sign-ups for football on the following dates: July 19, 21, 26 and 28th from 6-8 p.m. and on July 23 and 30th from 9-noon.
Boys ages 7 to 12 are eligible to participate. The cost is $75.
Sign-ups will be held at the clubhouse on Optimist Club Road. Questions may be directed to Tate Rodgers at 704-827-9154.

Home Run Derby
Mizuno Sports will hold a Home Run Derby at Biggerstaff Park in Dallas.
The 201 pounds and above derby will be held on July 22nd and the less than 200 pounds one will take place Friday, August 12th.
The first place winner will receive a pair of G2 shoes and a Mizuno Envy bat. Second place will win a bat bag and batting gloves. Third place will receive a Mizuno pullover and wrist bands.
The entry fee is $20 if paid two weeks prior to the event. The cost will be $25 the day of the event.

Nancy Black Benefit Softball Tournament
The Nancy Black Benefit Softball Tournament will be held August 18-20 at Hills Chapel and Mt. Pleasant in Denver.
It will be Class C, USSSA rules and USSSA distance softballs will be used.
There is a five homerun limit per ballgame. Awards will be given to first and second place.
A home run derby will follow the tournament’s championship game.
Concessions will be provided at both fields and the first 16 teams will be accepted.
