With Independence Day just around the corner, Denver residents and beyond may be asking themselves what there is to do to celebrate.
Look no further.
The fifth annual Community Fireworks festival will take place July 2 at East Lincoln High School. As well as the 18 minute fireworks display, there is also two country music stars to hit the stage.
The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with Darren Page who will be playing the top 40, country and rock and roll songs.
From 8 – 9:30 p.m., Grand Ole Opry member and Country Music Association award winner Jack Greene will entertain as well as 18-year-old country music television star, Candi Carpenter.
â€œEast Lincoln is privileged to have such high caliber entertainment performing at the Community Fireworks Festival this year,â€ said Jennifer Harkey, with Lake Norman Productions who has helped organize the event. â€œTogether they are a great duo that will please audiences of all ages.â€
From 9:30 – 9:48 p.m. there will be a fireworks display that will be synchronized with patriotic medleys.
The event is being presented by the Denver Area Business Association.
The festival started in 1999 at ELHS with over 1,000 people in attendance. Last yearâ€™s festival pulled in over 6,000 people.
