Post 100 falls in 12

CHARLOTTE–Slumping Cherryville Post 100 dropped its fourth straight Thursday night at South Mecklenburg, falling 4-3 to Pineville in 12 innings.
Pineville loaded the bases in the 12th and scored the winning run on an infield grounder.
After a 5-1 start, Post 100 has plummeted to 1-3 in the Eastern Division of Area Four and 5-5 overall.
For the fourth straight game, Cherryville`s pitching was adequate, but the offense failed to produce. Post 100`s run total in the current skid is 13, an average of three runs per game. The team batting average has dropped from .335 to .262.
Cherryville starting pitcher Wayne McDonald went 10 innings and struck out 12. Jake Watts and Daniel Styers made appearances in the last two innings, and Styers took the loss.
Paul Finger went 3-for-5 with a RBI for Post 100,and Evan Wise hit a two-run single.
Cherryville plays Kings Mountain tonight at Fraley Field, is idle on Saturday and meets Denver at home Sunday night.
Wednesday`s home game against Pineville was rained out and rescheduled for June 19.
