STANLEY–Jamie Kuntz (Concord) won the 25-lap feature for IMCA Modifieds at East Lincoln Speedway, Saturday night.
After starting fourth, Kuntz took the front position on the twelfth circuit and stayed there the remaining 13 laps for the win. Finishing second was Josh Wright (Mooresville) with Greg Brown (Concord) , James Kinney (Vale) and Eric Thompson (Charlotte) rounding out the top five.
Ronnie Whiteâ€™s (Charlotte) first visit of the season to the 3/8-th mile clay oval paid off as he led the entire distance of the 20-lap main event for Late Model Modified-Sportsman drivers.
Brian Robinson (Gastonia) was second, Woody Vosburgh (Stanley) third, Troy Wilson (Union Grove) fourth and Rick Painter (Belmont) fifth.
In the main event for Stock Four racers Randy Powell (Lincolnton) collected his fourth win of the season. Other top five finishers were Jimmy White (Charlotte), Jamie Major (Alexis), John Faulks (Dallas) and Adam Piercy (Cornelius).
Buck Stevens (Statesville) cruised to his third Rookie Four victory of the year by crossing the stripe in front of Brandon Mundy (Taylorsville), Johnny Toney (Mt. Holly), Adam Vandiver (Stanley) and Anthony Ritter (Dallas).
Tony Clements (Wirtz, VA) continued to be the class of the Mini-Sprints by winning for the fifth time in six starts in 2005.
Second was Todd Hager (Mooresville), with Jonathan Hager (Mooresville) third, Josh Chaney (Mt. Airy) fourth and Randy Cantrell (Concord) fifth.
Forest Cityâ€™s Steve Benson outlasted his competition to take the trophy and $500 in the Demolition Derby.
Racing will return to East Lincoln Speedway Saturday night beginning at 7:30 pm. A program featuring six divisions of competition will be offered plus a l,000 ping pong ball drop for the children that offers dozens of prizes.
