West Lincoln kids who want a summer packed full of fun and activities can take part in the county’s Summer Playground Program.
The west Lincoln site will be located at North Brook Elementary School. Other sites are located throughout the county.
So far, few people have shown interest in the west Lincoln location, said Erma Deen Hoyle, director of the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Parks and Recreation department.
If enough kids aren’t registered for the program, the department might have to cancel it. At least 12 to 15 kids are required.
The program runs from June 6 to Aug. 12. Kids can take part in it throughout the summer on a weekly basis or even just daily. The price is determined by how often a child wants to come. All students entering into grades one through six are invited to attend.
The program includes outdoor activities, field trips and crafts.
The cost is $75 per week or $25 per day. A second child in the same family can attend for $70 a week and $20 per day.
