The North Lincoln Knights beat Hendersonville 9-1 Monday night in the first round of the Southern Foothills Conference Tournament.
Junior Nicole Baxter pitched a complete game one-hitter, while striking out nine batters for the win. She also demonstrated excellent control walking no one.
The star at the plate was sophomore Courtney Feldon. Feldon, who batted near .550 on the season, went 3-for-4 with two triples, a single and two RBIs.
Kayla Alexander singled twice and had one RBI. Lindsey Smith also singled twice.
Amanda Snyder had a double and two RBIs. Jenna Torbert had a triple, was hit by a pitch and reached on an error. She also chipped in with a RBI. Baxter reached safely three times, with a double, two walks and one RBI.
McKenzie Harkey and Nicole Hall chipped in with singles.
With the win, the Knights will visit Maiden, who beat them 3-2 in the regular season finale in eight innings.
In that game, North Lincoln held a 2-1 lead before a controversial play allowed the Blue Devils to tie the game at two.
Lindsey Canipe scored the game-winning run for Maiden.
After the game, several of the Lady Knights spoke openly of how they relished a possible rematch in the conference tournament.
Wednesday, they get their wish. The pitching match-up will likely see Baxter versus Kelsey Leonard.
