The East Lincoln Betterment Association will meet Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the East Lincoln Recreation Center on Optimist Club Road to discuss road construction and maintenance.
The speakers will be Robert Collier, regional representative on the North Carolina Board of Transportation and Mike Holder, DOT engineer for Lincoln County.
Topics will include the statewide transportation plan, which covers a 25 year horizon. Collier and Holder will discuss its effect on future highway programs affecting Lincoln County.
A number of questions relevant to the east Lincoln area will be asked of the speakers, including the widening of existing N.C. 16, the paving of the new N.C. 16 and the plans to widen or improve N.C. 73.
The meeting is open to the public. Anyone interested in the future of the road system should attend.
