Applications are now being accepted by the Lincolnton Business and Professional Womenâ€™s Organization for the 2005 Lincoln County Apple Queen Scholarship Pageant.
The pageant will be held at the James W. Warren Citizens Center on Saturday, Aug. 13.
Applications are available at all four high schools from the guidance counselors and are also available at the Lincolnton/Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. Deadline for the applications to be returned to BPW is June 30.
Those interested in competing are encouraged to pick up an application as soon as possible.
Applicants must be Lincoln County residents and a rising high school senior for fall 2005 or enrolled in college. Important instructions regarding pictures are included in the application.
Scholarships awarded will be $2,500 for the queen; $1,000 for first runner-up; and $500 for second runner-up. Miss Congeniality will receive a cash award and engraved apple plaque.
